Teaching and Learning Reports in Support of Target Setting

Why was this partnership activity necessary - concerns, aims, difficulties etc?
It was necessary to offer consistency of approach to build parental school links and involvement with the target setting initiative required by SEED.

Where does this partnership operate?
In school and between home and school.

When does this work happen?

  • Formally at annual review.
  • Preparation through consultation pre-review.
  • Implementation over the session.

How does the scheme work? How is it maintained, sustained and evaluated?
CTs and LST prepare report together consulting with SNA where appropriate. Report based on evaluation of teaching and learning as well as formal assessments. Report shared with parents and other agencies involved with review. Targets discussed, amended and agreed. Maintained and sustained because of staff commitment and the benefit of the clear focus - parents valuing information.

What are the benefits? What difference does this partnership make?
Quality, accurate information shared and discussed with all who are involved. Parents fully involved with target setting and the review allows on the spot opportunities for discussion and dialogue. Everyone's roles and responsibilities are clear.
