Peer Education Programme
(Partnership in the School Community)
Larkhall Academy

Second week of the New Session (approx)

S6 students who have volunteered for the Programme indicate the support which they are willing to offer. Junior pupils are then approached and 'matched up' with a senior. The agreement of class teachers is obtained so that the S6 students can either provide in-class support or withdraw individual pupils from a class. In addition, Primary schools are contacted so that the seniors who wish to visit these schools, to make arrangement can do so.

As the scheme begins, students and staff are asked to indicate any initial points of concern which might have arisen. (the programme is then monitored at regular intervals).

The scheme runs alongside the support for pupils, which is provided by the Learning Support department and represents a valuable additional resource.
