Moving More, Learning More

Why was this partnership activity necessary - concerns, aims, difficulties etc?
The benefits of Brain Gym were experienced in the rest of the school - however the infant area layout presented a challenge as to how to implement this for the youngest children

Where does this partnership operate?
At school, with LS involvement and support of five class teachers.

When does this work happen?
3x weekly Monday, Wednesday and Friday at present - aiming for daily.

How does the scheme work? How is it maintained, sustained and evaluated?

  • On-going L.S. input via class teacher
  • Continuity of planned programme by class teachers, auxiliaries and classroom assistants
  • Evaluation and written feedback from class teachers

What are the benefits? What difference does this partnership make?
The co-operation of 6 members of staff has allowed the youngest children to benefit from Brain Gym, they are

  • More focused
  • Have learned about imagination
  • Enjoy the variety of new routine
  • Concentrate and listen better
  • Have fun whilst preparing for learning
