Phase 1

12/01:
Brain Gym is used in school, but is it possible to engage all five Pr.l & 2 classes in the open area? Is there a way to make it fun? What about Brain Gym adapted to music?
Agreement of all class teachers will be needed.
Consultation with c.t.'s involved -agree to trial on a x3 weekly basis.
Also agree to teach routines in rotation with l.s. support.
Christmas holidays 01:
Design 'routine' to 4 catchy pieces of music.
11/1/02: 'Chunk down' routine & teach to each class individually, alongside c.t.'s, auxiliaries and classroom assistants.
4/1/02:
Ist session, led by l.s.-over 100 children participate successfully. Also on Wed./Fri. Continuity of Brain Gym - c.t.'s.

Phase 2

New routine -new music, different moves - teaching delayed by l.s. absence. Continue mov. programmes for specific children, in line with Brain Gym, + additional exercises from latest brain research, ie to develop cerebellum -l.s.
22/3/02:
Feedback from c.t.'s re effectiveness of planned programme. All favourable, including reports of children being 'bright eyed and bushy tailed'. Everyone willing for participation to continue.

Phase 3

26/3/02: Teach new routine to c.t. Copy of tape & notes to c.t.
13/5/02: L.S. & c.t. review routine prior to the start of school. C.T. teaches routine to each class in turn, with l.s. support initially.
15/5/02: First new routine in open area. Programme sustained by c.t.'s

Phase 4

18/6/02:
Explore ways of extending programme for specific children by attending Laban Developmental Movement Course. Plan to-use this to best effect after summer holidays. Follow-up Laban training planned in September '02.

On-going cycle of planned routines for infants will continue.
